Why you need a constant De-Growth

Share

We as a generation are obsessed about growth. Look at the common questions we share

1. What is your package? ( or what is the package that class mate/ friend/ professional is earning)

2. What all you have bought, what all you have acquired?

3. Which all places, cities, countries you have visited?

Once this exchange of show biz gets over, the clear rules gets laid. One is the winner, other at the lower end a looser.

Then the question moves to whats your career plan, and the winner starts sharing his/her insights about how the other can grow.

We are so obsessed about this so called “Growth”, its almost like craziness.

You are proved fool in your life if you could not decode, link and understand, the happenings in life.

Its surprisingly disturbing to find everyone around, having this obsessive desire to find a reason of growth.

So here let’s understand life from a different angle, from the angle of De-growth and why it is necessary.

Imagine yourself walking, but you do not know your final destination. All you know is, you cannot stop, yes, you can slow down, and move quickly, but you cannnot stop. You have little milestones to reach, and you do try to give your best to reach them.

In your journey to reach these milestones, you take some turns which put you in to a longer run, a long road, and the more you move ahead, the more you go away from your milestone.

Now what to do at this point. Most prefer not to think about it, and continue running faster and harder just to end up being nowwhere.

In order to come out of this phase, you need a constant degrowth. Understanding Constant De-growth

Constant degrowth is about purposefully taking step back irrespective of the world view and taking control of the situation. Its about choosing to move down, and enjoy the beauty of disconnect.

In next post will share few strategies how degrowth can be achieved and practiced daily.
